There are just a few things that you need to do to make sure you keep your mouth healthy!
Brush twice a day with a fluoridated toothpaste
Brush your teeth for at least 2 minutes, twice a day.
Use a soft-bristled toothbrush with a small head and flexible neck.
Clean teeth symmetrically, holding your toothbrush at the gumline, at a 45 degree angle.
Keep it gentle and don’t press too hard! – too much pressure can damage your gums and tooth enamel.
Choose a toothpaste with fluoride and replace your toothbrush every three months.
Floss between your teeth and gums at least once a day
For a complete job: make flossing part of your every-day routine.
Ask your dentist to demonstrate the correct flossing technique.
Ask your dentist if interdental aids will complement your flossing.
Your children should floss too, start as soon as your child has two teeth that touch.
Choose healthy and less-sugary drinks and food
Sugar intake is the single-biggest cause of tooth decay.
Fluoridated tap water is best.
Read ingredient labels on food packaging as many of them will have hidden sugars.
Teeth friendly foods include: cheese, nuts and vegetables.
Avoid snacking and grazing.
Have regular dental check-ups
